A Small Story at Second Chance Store

Donation to Second Chance Store

Last week, Second Chance Store received a donation from a friend who was returning to the US. Among thier donated items, there was a special item that caught our attention. It was a small bag of Vietnamese dongs and coins which included: VND 500, VND 1,000, VND 2,000. The total amount of all the small currencies was worth over VND 900,000.

As known, Vietnamese children usually had a piggy bank which they used to save in order to buy shirts or toys. At school, they always organized campaigns to collect papers and bottles to raise money for charity programs. While these small efforts brought in only small donations, together they encourage and inspire many to donate for not-for-profit organizations and charity organizations.

This is was one of the examples of a donation to LIN Center as well as Second Chance Store in the past few years. The diversified contribution from individuals, groups or companies will make an inspiration for us and not-for-profit community as well as help build a better and developed community.
