On 18 July 2013, LIN Center for Community Development coordinated with eBrand company to organize a workshop on “Basic Video editing”* with the presentation of Mr. Tran Anh Viet, eBrand’s designer. The workshop attracted staff from 19 local non-profit organizations (NPO).
One of the highlights of the training was “learning by doing” model. Each group of participants was provided with a laptop and the NPO staff not only learned theory but also got first hand experience in videotaping, editing and sharing a simple video clip.
The trainning began with an overview of the video, video formats and some basic camere angles. Mr. Viet invited Mr. Le Trung Hai (Nhung Uoc Mo Xanh group) to make a video interview of Mr. Tran Duy Quang, a member of Nhan Ai Club.
From this “raw” video, Mr. Viet guided basic editting technique such as Cutting, Inserting Titles, Effects… in Windows Movie Maker, a software available on computers that run on Microsoft Windows.
Recognizing the need to share video on communication channels by non-profit organizations, Mr. Viet shared tips to manage a video clip on youtube, including inserting music from Youtube library and annotation, writing description for video before uploading it on Youtube. Through practice process, participants had the chance to exchange experiences on how to make a video and spread it in the most effective way.
“The knowledge from the trainning is simple but practical. I believe that SPI can make videos by ourselves for the organization’s activities,” said Ms. Do Thi Loc from SPI project.
Finally, Mr.Viet shared some popular software to support video processing, and answered the questions about the whole process of creating – editing – sharing video.
This is the second workshop to provide communication training for non-profit organizations as part of LIN Community Partnership Initiatives 2013. LIN sincerely thanks speaker Tran Anh Viet- eBrand company’s designer, and non-profit organizations who participated in this workshop.
